A towering boombox installation took over Battersea Power Station as Lipton Kombucha launched its new range with a dance-focused celebration designed to lift spirits and get the public moving. Dubbed the ‘Komboomcha Box’, the structure served as the centrepiece for a day of public dancing, music and free kombucha sampling.

Standing as a nod to retro sound systems with a modern twist, the oversized boombox featured built-in speakers and a performance space that transformed the venue into a dance zone. The event aimed to tackle new research from Lipton Ice Tea showing that half of UK adults feel anxious about dancing in public, despite the majority reporting that dancing improves their mood.

The Komboomcha Box opened with Curtis Pritchard leading cha-cha dance sessions alongside a professional instructor. The lessons were free to attend and designed to encourage participation from all levels of experience. “I’m thrilled to have teamed up with Lipton Ice Tea to help the nation rediscover the joy of dance with the Lipton Kombucha,” said Pritchard. “For me, dancing has always been a source of happiness and confidence, so it’s been fantastic to join forces with Wes and share that energy with everyone at Battersea Power Station. Whether you’re a pro or just fancy a bit of fun, we should all welcome in the summer with an uplifting cha-cha-cha!”

As the day progressed, the boombox stage became the setting for the first live performance of ‘Kombucha-cha’, a new single by Wes Nelson created to mark the product launch. The performance followed the debut of a dance-led music video filmed in Camden Market. Nelson also performed several of his well-known tracks, including Drive, Nice To Meet Ya, Yellow, and Fly Away.

Designed as a multi-sensory activation, the Komboomcha Box featured not only live music and dancing but also a curated playlist and free samples of Lipton Kombucha in three flavours: Strawberry Mint, Raspberry, and Mango Passionfruit. The new drink is described by the brand as a blend of fermented tea, live cultures and fruit flavours, aiming to promote feel-good energy alongside physical movement.
