The Entertainer has announced that the opening of its new Generation 5 concept store at Bluewater was the most successful in the toy retailer’s 45-year history. The launch, which took place on Saturday 24 May, drew over 10,000 visitors across the bank holiday weekend and generated record-breaking sales figures.
The highly anticipated store attracted long queues on opening day, with lines stretching through the mall to the doors of John Lewis. The event featured one of the country’s few POP MART Roboshops as well as a meet-and-greet with Bluey, both of which proved popular with families and children.

Celebrations at the Bluewater location are continuing into the store’s second weekend, with appearances from Peppa Pig’s Daddy Pig and live demonstrations of Pitter Patter Pets scheduled to keep customer engagement high.
Andrew Murphy OBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Entertainer, commented: “The success of our new Generation 5 concept and our Bluewater store is – above all – a huge credit to our retail, commercial, marketing and property teams.
“With a record number of customers in the first three days the store is off to an incredibly strong start, with Lego, POP MART and our exclusive private label products all proving very popular. Consolidating the strength of the shop’s product offering, we’re delighted with the enthusiastic customer response to our price match promise – guaranteeing Kent’s toy lovers the very best prices in the mall and the local area.”

The Generation 5 concept represents a new retail direction for The Entertainer, blending interactive experiences with a broadened product assortment aimed at enhancing in-store engagement.
